Tasting Notes Brilliant straw yellow. The bouquet is very distinctive, with fresh notes of meadow flowers, citrus fruits, and golden apple, with a characteristic mineral touch on the finish. The taste is lightly sweet and smooth thanks to the balance between structure, acidity and fruit notes. The aftertaste is long and fragrant, with hints of fresh almond, resulting from the Orvieto region's chalky soils.
Food Pairings Enjoy Ruffino Orvieto Classico alone as the perfect ending to a meal or with dishes that have a bit of spice to them, such as enchiladas or chicken tikka masala.
Varieties Grechetto 40%, Procanico 20%, other white varietals (Verdello, Canaiolo bianco) 40%.

A Light, Sunny White
The Ruffino 2008 Orvieto is a nice, light, fruity white wine that is exemplary of Orvieto. There is a lightly tar/petrol aftertaste that is not at all unpleasant.

I am not a big wine drinker at all. Altho, if I do drink it, I prefer white wines as they are more fruity and dont have what I consider a harsh after taste. (can we see I am not the expert wine drinker? LoL) A lady at the store recommended this one to me, and I must say, I love it. It has a very smooth taste, with a crisp fruity flavor. So wether you are the expert or a beginner like myself, I recommend this to all. Enjoy!
