Tasting Notes
Ruby red in color, with garnet hues. Aromas typical of Sangiovese cultivated in Montalcino prevail: notes of violets, roses, wild cherries and plums intertwine with walnuts, coffee beans, chocolate and dried figs. On the palate, it is balanced and elegant in structure, showing excellent aging potential. The finish is generous, with sweet fruity notes and subtle hints of rosemary and white pepper.
Pairing Suggestions
Greppone Mazzi Brunello di Montalcino is a rich, intensely flavored wine that begs for dishes such as rack of lamb, seared duck breast with grilled Portobello mushrooms, or cinghiale (wild boar ragu) over pasta. It is also a natural with cheeses such as Pecorino Toscano and Taleggio.
