90 Points, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate - The 2008 Invetro is a ridiculously delicious wine for the money. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot from vineyards in Montalcino. The Invetro flows from the glass with layers of dark red fruit, herbs, minerals and spices, all of which come together on a medium-bodied, focused frame of impeccable elegance. This is a very serious wine; in fact it needs at least another year in bottle. Needless to say, it is a screaming value.
Tasting Notes
Superbly rich ruby-red appearance. Vey complex on the nose, with crisp fruit fragrances melding beautifully with earthy notes. The palate exhibits a solid structure with impressive depth, and a judicious equilibrium between alcoholic warmth and tannic weave. Very long tasty finish.
The wine has the Glass Cork. With the Glass Cork the wine can be open and close several times without jeoprodising the wine quality. |
