Winemaker Notes
The Ramos-Pinto Superior Tawny has a deep brick-red color from extended aging in oak. Intense fruit aromas greet the nose, with evident full secondary aromas. Notes of fig, quince, dry leaves, and raisins dominate the nose and palate. The first impression is light and hot, evolving into a rich smoothness gained from wood aging. Ready to drink upon release, this is a well-matured fruity port, with a fine flavored dry finish.

Winemaking
Ramos-Pinto's wood-aged ports are blended from several vintages and several quintas. Unlike the majority of port houses, Ramos-Pinto owns almost all of its own vineyards and controls the grape quality from pruning to harvest. After fermentation, the wine is transported down the Douro River to Vila Nova de Gaia, where they are aged in wood casks for three to seven years before being bottled and shipped. This wine is ready to enjoy now, and does not require further aging.
