Winemaker Notes
Monkey Bay wines take their name from a small, beautiful bay on the coast of Marlborough, situated in the South Island of New Zealand. A legendary Monkey was once believed to have inhabited this secluded spot.
Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the early ripening vineyards in Marlborough, which give the wine its crisp and lively finish. The region enjoyed a particularly hot and dry summer and autumn, allowing grapes to develop optimal ripeness and great flavour. The quality of harvested fruit has been exceptional this year, and our winemakers consider the 2010 vintage as "something special".
