93 Points, Wine Advocate - The star of the show among La Lecciaia's new releases is the mid weight 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. A little slow to open, the wine shows power and depth followed by a pretty embroidery of varietal aromas. This wine is focused on the small details and the finer nuances. Lingering aromas of wild berry, toasted nut, smoke, wet earth, cola and balsam herb add brightness and buoyancy to the bouquet. There is a dry mineral note on the finish that serves to give weight and definition. The wine reveals tight tannins and a silky feel. I suggest giving this Riserva another few years to reach integration.
93 Points, Vinous - A powerful, incisive wine, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva hits the palate with bruising tannins, and plenty of intense, mineral/savory/ feral overtones. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2010 for at last another few years, as the wine is pretty closed down today. Still, this is an expressive, if somewhat burly and brooding, Riserva from La Lecciaia. The mysterious, somewhat elusive personality that makes Sangiovese so intriguing is very much in evidence. Sweet floral and spice notes add aromatic lift on the finish.
93 Points, James Suckling - Plum and orange peel with hints of milky chocolate follow through to a full body, silky palate. Typical outstanding Brunello 2010 Riserva.
92 Points, Wine Enthusiast - Dark-skinned berry, menthol toast and tilled soil aromas come together in the glass. Full-bodied, ripe, velvety tannins underscore flavors of mature black cherry, licorice, tobacco and clove.
