Nero d'Avola is an indigenous Sicilian variety with a huge reputation. It was first cultivated only in the area of Siracusa, but has since spread all over Sicily.
Red wine with a unique fruity character. Hints of red berries and cranberry. It has a deep red colour with a soft and delicate structure.
Food Pairings
It pairs well with risotto, baked pasta, red meats, game, lamb and seasoned cheeses.

This wine is the best red wine I have ever had, and I have had plenty.The 2006 was the best but is not available, the 2007 and 2008 are almost as good, but beeter than most other wines at any price.
